My DH accepted a new job in Sunny Cali-forn-i-a!!! YAY!!! No more snow. No more raking tons of leaves. No more Hoosiers (sorry). It's not Texas but at least it's WEST instead of, well, you get it.
Now the fun part begins. Packing, purging and panicking. Figuring out how to best transport 3 dogs and 2 cats over a three day trip... Exciting times!!!!
Hugs!!

Of all the mailboxes...
These ants chose mine. It's a mystery to me.
At first I thought they were stockpiling grain or seeds but, with a closer look I realized they were moving larvae from the mailbox to the outside.
Not the clearest picture (they declined to stop and pose for me)
Even weirder, for the past few weeks, they would be there one day and gone the next then back a few days later and on and on. I never knew what I would find going on in there from one day to the next. They were not in my neighbors mailbox (I peeked). Hum.

The Muddy Bottom Boys
Hello from Wet Indy!
I wish I could send all this rain we have been having to Texas! Lord knows y'all need it in the worst way right now!!!
So, that being said... As you can see the Boys are having a grand time playing in the rain and mud.

No white fur. Crimped hair. Don't be fooled by the sad look, he had a great time getting dirty!
This used to be a beautiful, lush garden area.
Now it's a pig sty.
They thought it needed to be excavated.
Bless their little muddy hearts.
Thanks for looking and your comments!!

Prom Season
As some of you may know, I work for a florist in town. Spring means high school prom season. So, we are busy gearing up for it. It's a mixture of cute, comical and stressful. This applies in this order: cute girls, comical boys and stressful mothers.
At this time I am reminded of my first Prom. It was in 1971. Very different from the proms now days! I was a sophomore and my boyfriend (and future ex-husband) was a senior. The proms were held in the gym which was decorated by the juniors. Girls carried nosegays instead of wearing corsages. I came across this ad from Al's Formal Wear. It's too funny (now)!

The Hot-Rodder
Classic. Love the hair! Is this what my date wore? No. This is the one he chose:The Chopper
Yeah. Because it matched my dress color. And yes, he had the ruffled shirt. Read the descriptions. "The fastest chick in town" Really!!!! Actually, his hair looked quite like this model's hair (it's all gone now)
Fun times!!!!

The Big Day
Neuter Day. Poor Guys!
kat
Henry lying down, Boo on the left.
Two groggy unhappy guys!
"Cone head sucks, Mom!!!"
By the way, Henry weighed 40.7 and Boo, 32. Think they are slowing down, thankfully! They also got microchips and PennHip x-rays for canine hip dysplasia diagnosis, which you can check out here: http://www.thepetcenter.com/xra/hd.html
Since I found them abandoned on the road I have no idea about their parents or history. The vet suggested this procedure to better know how to care and exercise them for the future. I suspect that Henry may have the trait (cow hocked) and would not be surprised if Boo did also, being litter mates. Just want to do right by them and keep them healthy and happy guys!kat
